Directors

Terry McManaman - Chairman

President and Chief Executive Officer of Global Railway. Terry McManaman has held senior management positions with the Canadian Nation Railroad (CNR).  Most recently, as Vice President of CNR’s Cargoflo and Transload, he was responsible for over 260 facilities in North America where customer shipments are transferred  between rail, truck, ships, warehouses and distribution centres.  Just prior, Terry as Vice President of CNR’s Gulf Division was responsible for all rail operations, marketing and administration from St. Louis to New Orleans. This territory covered 3100 track miles, and 3000 employees and direct operating budget of $200 million.  Terry is a Chartered Accountant.

 

Laurie Bennett - Director

Mr. Bennett is a retired audit partner of Ernst & Young LLP.  He has managed the audits of a number of Canada’s largest companies, with a particular focus on the manufacturing sector, among others.  He served on the board of Stelco upon its emergence from bankruptcy reorganization until the time of its sale to US Steel.  He is currently on the board of Exco Technologies Limited.

 

Jean Clerk - Director

Mr. Clerk is a lawyer at Heenan Blaikie, specializing in railway law and railway related transactions.  He has been a director at Global since May 2008.  Before joining Heenan Blaikie, he worked with Canadian National’s Legal Affairs department for 25 years.


Mr. Clerk has been associated with the railway industry since 1969.  During his career, he was called up to provide both strategic and legal services to a vast array of railway and railway-related industries.  He has represented three Class One railways as well as many regional and short-line railways, railway passenger companies, various transit authorities, port authorities, and numerous railway-related service providers.  He has worked with and has access to, for the benefit of his clients, a vast and unique network of resources in all the fields of expertise necessary to provide a full range of services that could be required by railway-related organizations.
